- Your accountant can't file your T2 or GST/HST return because the books aren't ready.
- You've received a CRA demand to file or a notice of assessment you don't understand.
- You're applying for a loan, selling the business, or bringing in a partner and need clean financials.
What's included
| Step | What we do |
|---|---|
| 1. Review | We assess how far behind you are, which accounts are involved, and which returns are overdue. |
| 2. Gather | We collect bank and credit card statements, sales reports, payroll records and receipts, and request missing statements where needed. |
| 3. Reconcile | Every account is reconciled month by month against the statements. |
| 4. Categorize | Income and expenses are coded to a proper chart of accounts so you claim every legitimate deduction and input tax credit. |
| 5. Report | You receive an income statement and balance sheet for each catch-up period. If a lender needs a Notice to Reader or review engagement, we arrange it with our partner CPAs. |
| 6. File | We prepare and file the overdue T2, T1 and GST/HST returns. See late tax filing. |
| 7. Stay current | Optional monthly bookkeeping so it doesn't happen again. |
One all-inclusive flat rate
Your catch-up is priced as one all-inclusive flat rate, based on how many years, accounts and returns are involved. It covers the bookkeeping, overdue T2, T1 and GST/HST/PST returns, CRA correspondence, and VDP or penalty-relief requests where they apply. No hourly billing and no surprise add-ons. It's all backed by our 100% Happiness Guarantee: if you're not happy, we'll keep working with you on the engagement until you're satisfied with the work we've done. Applies to the work included in your engagement.

How long does catch-up bookkeeping take?
Guaranteed within 1 month once we've received all your documents. Multi-year catch-ups typically take 1–2 months. To be clear: delays on the client side (missing statements or slow replies) and delays from banks or the CRA can extend the timeline. We'll tell you up front if anything is holding things up.
Why catching up sooner saves money
The cost of waiting usually goes beyond the bookkeeping fee:
- Late-filing penalties. If a corporation owes tax and files its T2 late, the CRA generally charges 5% of the unpaid tax plus 1% for each full month late, up to 12 months. Penalties can be higher for repeat late filers. ([PLACEHOLDER: add CRA source link from canada.ca])
- GST/HST penalties. A late GST/HST return is generally charged 1% of the amount owing plus 0.25% per full month, up to 12 months.
- Missed deductions and input tax credits. Without clean books, legitimate expenses go unclaimed.
- Arbitrary assessments. If you don't file, the CRA can estimate what you owe, usually not in your favour.
Already facing penalties? We also prepare VDP applications and penalty waiver requests, included in our all-inclusive flat rate with no separate fee.
Rates are summarized from CRA guidance. Confirm current rules on canada.ca.
Who we help
Incorporated businesses, sole proprietors, contractors, trucking companies, restaurants, e-commerce sellers, health professionals and more, across Canada, mostly in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia, from Toronto and the GTA to Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.
